What is ISIS?
ISIS has brought together spatial data relating to the designated Neighbourhood Renewal Area in Newry (Northern Ireland) to create a powerful information resource which can assist those interested in the development of the area.
Accurate site information is a pre-requisite for physical development/economic renewal. By combining map information based on Ordinance Survey and other information which was dispersed between statutory agencies and private businesses, ISIS now gives Newry stakeholders (i.e. residents, businesses, political representatives and statutory service providers) and prospective private and public sector investors access to information on vacant or rundown properties/sites which offer development opportunities within Newry’s Neighbourhood Renewal Area.
The ISIS Project has identified these development opportunities because they have the potential to attract investment, contribute to economic renewal, reduce dereliction, improve the Newry townscape and ultimately enhance the quality of life of people residing, working and visiting the Newry NRA.
The information about Newry West which has been captured can be of use to:
1) Public and private sector interests considering investing in the area.
Investors interested in development opportunities in Newry should click on the Investor Prospectus link on the main navigation bar.
2) Stakeholders, including local Community Associations, District Council politicians and officials, planners and the Department of Social Development, who wish to identify and promote opportunities for physical renewal. ISIS can help the development decision-making process because it facilitates better analysis and presentation of relevant information and remote visualisation of development challenges and opportunities.
