ISIS allows Newry NR stakeholders to research, develop, implement, and monitor development plans for Newry West. It provides a “visualisation” tool to allow the public and decision makers to consider and plan strategies to address various development challenges. ISIS provides NR communities with a tool to help them to be involved in the future development of their neighbourhoods.
The Newry NRA Partnership is committed to developing communities everyone would want to call home. To achieve this will require that a balance is struck between the needs of residential neighbourhoods and business concerns. Now, in addition to that complex challenge, rapidly changing economic conditions have further complicated the process by severely constraining economic development resources. ISIS helps the NR Partnership to respond to this environment. ISIS allows NR stakeholders to quickly access information on sites in Newry West. ISIS helps NR stakeholders to analyse problems more quickly and thoroughly, formulate solutions, and monitor progress. ISIS encourages greater citizen participation and community input in developing a vision for the communities within the Newry NRA. It makes collaboration between government agencies and communities possible in new and powerful ways. The strong data integration abilities of ISIS let NR stakeholders truly capitalize on data isolated in legacy systems.
Examples of the specialist support which the ISIS team has provided to Newry’s Neighbourhood Renewal Community Associations (CAs) include:
